Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became an anchor and morning reporter for WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police in DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. The result was the state government imposing more stringent rules in these instances. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the year Award to every aspect of South Carolina media. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell served as co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. Additionally, she is co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She co-hosted several of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards.
