Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the 22nd season which premiered on CBS on August 5, 2018. Chen Moonves served as moderator as well as one of the original hosts of The Talk. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work. She was a writer before she became a host, but her love of writing was for the written word. In fact, it brought her an Emmy. Additionally, she was awarded one Emmy award for outstanding host of a talk show. The Talk is a show which analyzes current affairs with five female hosts. Chen Moonves co-hosted CBS News' weekday morning program The Early Show in 2002 and 2010 before becoming the host of the talk show. In the past, she served as CBS Morning News anchor and hosts of The Early Show. Following the attacks of 9/11, Chen Moonves tracked down the father and leader hijacker to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. In addition, she met with the former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program which featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves was an anchor and reporter at WCBS-TV, the CBS-owned station located in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997).
